Church planting is
accomplished in partnership with the Evangelical Free Church of
Japan (EFCJ). We aim to plant healthy, reproducing,
locally autonomous churches that reach out globally. Ministry
activities include evangelism, teaching, discipling, baptizing,
local church administration, and developing leaders.
Currently EFCMJ missionaries
are involved in five church planting efforts. From south to north:
Okinawa: Naha EFC is a work of the
Home Missions Committee. It was started by EFCMJ missionaries,
Dale & Sandra Roth.
Kyushu: Maebaru is the second church
plant in Fukuoka, on the southern island of Kyushu. The Maebaru work was
started September, 2002. We have three missionary households ministering in that
work.
Kanto: Higashi Murayama is a work
started by the Tokyo Musashino Chapel. The EFCMJ provided a missionary to
assist in that church plant in 2000.
Tohoku: Sendai was started
as a national project in 1989. Sendai planted Furukawa five
years later. In June, 2002 we sent a missionary family
to start a new church plant in Tomiya Cho.
Hokkaido: Sapporo was
started as the 50th anniversary project of the EFCJ in 1999.
Three years later, the Sapporo EFC has become self supporting. They
have also services and small groups meeting in Chitose, about one
hour by car, south of the Sapporo Church.

Some missionaries have websites with additional information about
them selves and their ministry.
